Andrew Nicholson is a native of Texarkana, Arkansas. While attending high school at Arkansas Senior High, Andrew was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and a trumpet player in the Razorback Marching & Symphonic band. As a student in AHS’s vocational program in 2001, Andrew became the first Texarkana area high school student to pass the CompTIA A+ Certification Program for computer repair. Andrew graduated from Arkansas High School in 2003, and received a Presidential Scholarship from Texarkana College. As a student at TC, Andrew was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Throughout his college years, Andrew worked part time as a graphic designer for a local monument company. In 2009, Andrew graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M Texarkana, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems.
Shortly after graduation from Texas A&M, Andrew accepted a position at Texarkana College as a junior level computer programmer. Andrew has been an employee at TC during two ERP system conversions, and is currently the Senior Programmer Analyst at Texarkana College. In addition to his work at TC, Andrew is a consultant for the Texas Community College Consortium (TexasC3). This position affords Andrew the opportunity to share knowledge he has accumulated in 6 years of Higher Education IT experience with other colleges in the state of Texas, as well as acquire new knowledge and skills that can be applied at Texarkana College.
