
Craig Nakashian

Dr. Craig M Nakashian grew up in Wilbraham, a small town in western Massachusetts. He has bachelors’ degree in History and Government from Western New England University, a Masters degree in Medieval History from Durham University (UK), and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Rochester. He is currently an Associate Professor of History at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. He moved to Texarkana in 2010 where he lives with his wife and two children.
In addition to his activism with Equality Texarkana, Craig is on the Board of Directors of the Texarkana Museums System, as well as a number of professional organizations associated with the study of medieval history. He was an active member of the Republican party in Massachusetts and New York, though since moving to Texas he has moved closer to the Libertarian party. He is deeply committed to ending discrimination in all forms.
