A native of Texarkana, Texas, Jimmy has spent the majority of his life in Texarkana. Having been born with a sunken chest and prune belly syndrome Jimmy knew from an early age what it was like to be different. Jimmy has worked in group home settings with the profound mentally disabled, as well as worked in special education in the public school system.  Always an advocate for equality Jimmy started Equality Texarkana as a way to unite the LGBT community. The hope being that through community the LGBT populace of Texarkana would feel supported and know that there is a safe place to be who they have always been.  The ultimate goal is an outreach center that will be a shelter for LGBT teens who have been forced from their homes, and a community center where members of the community can socialize in safety.
