Chief Financial Officer
This is my bio. And here’s a little bit of history about me since that’s what bios are about. I was almost born in Texarkana, Arkansas but I ended up being born in Galveston, Texas instead. I never lived In Galveston. My family moved a lot when I was growing up so I can’t really call anywhere home. We settled in the Ark-La-Tex, by pure chance not by design, in the late 1980’s. I guess if I were to call anyplace home, it would be the Ark-La-Tex.
My education history is as follows: I graduated from Bloomburg High School. While I was attending high school a teacher of mine first mentioned accounting to me, and I told her that it was boring. Well, I took the class and to my surprise, it wasn’t boring at all. In fact, I loved it. Now years later, I have an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Texarkana College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Texas A&M-Texarkana. I also completed the CPA exam.
I work at H&R Block as a tax preparer and I thoroughly enjoy working there. Between the people I meet and the different tax situations, it is not a boring job.
I’m a board member of Equality Texarkana. I’ve never been involved in a non-profit organization and it is an honor to be part of this organization as it begins its journey in life. I also have the privilege to work with the talented, passionate, and optimistic people that make up the core of Equality Texarkana. As time moves on, our organization will grow and change as will the people involved with it. Together we will ensure a brighter future.
